Instructional Student Assistant

Effective Date

January 23, 2012 to June 30, 2012 (Spring Semester 2012)

Salary Range

Up to 20 hours per week, $10.00 per hour

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active enrollment in a CSULB program for at least 6 units during the semester employed
  • GPA of at least 3.0 in all courses taken at CSULB
  • Successful completion of POSC 100 with a grade of “A”
  • Ability to work between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Major or Minor in Political Science

  • GPA of at least 3.0 in all Political Science courses taken at CSULB 

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist faculty in evaluating written work of students enrolled in Political Science 100 (Introduction to American Government)
  • Maintain office hours to advise and assist students
  • Work on various Department functions and projects

 

Required Documentation

  • Signed SC-1 form (obtained from department)
  • A letter of application addressing the student’s qualifications for the position

  • Resume including current email address

  • Three letters of recommendation

  • Employment is contingent upon proof of the legal right to work in the United States. This proof must be provided at the time of employment at the University.

    • An appointment is not final until proof is provided
