Graduate Assistants, Political Science

Effective Date

August 22, 2011 (Fall 2011 semester)
January 23, 2012 (Spring 2012 semester)

Salary Range

Full-time appointment (20 hours per week) $5,490. Paid in five monthly installments of $1,098 each.

Half-time appointment (10 hours per week) $2,745. Paid in five monthly installments of $549 each.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Students must be enrolled in a Graduate Program at CSULB.
  • Must be able to work between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
  • Graduate student may not be employed for more than six semesters.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to Political Science Graduate Students.
  • Non-political science graduate students must have a bachelor's degree in political science or related discipline and a GPA of 3.0 or better.

Duties

  • Assist faculty in evaluating written work of students enrolled in Political Science 100 (Introduction to American Government).
  • Maintain office hours to advise and assist students.
  • Work on various department functions and projects.
