Full-time Lecturer Position

 

POSITION:   Lecturer position in Librarianship Program in the Department of Advanced Studies in Education and Counseling.

EFFECTIVE DATE:  August 24, 2009.            

         

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Masters degree in librarianship or closely related field and Library Media Teacher Services/Librarianship credential.  Successful professional experience working with K-12 students; successful experience working in library settings; successful professional experience teaching adults; successful professional experiences in multicultural/multilingual settings; ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctorate in librarianship or closely related field. University teaching, supervision, and student advising.  Successful experience working in two or more types of libraries (i.e., public, academic, special, school); Successful professional experience teaching in an online environment.

 

DUTIES: Teach courses, supervise field experience in credential and graduate programs in librarianship; assist with recruitment, advisement and retention of culturally and linguistically diverse students; assist with program coordination and advance program relations with community and professional associations; participate in university and community service.

 

SALARY RANGE:  Commensurate with academic rank.

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION: Letter of application, curriculum vita, three recent letters of recommendation, and official transcript from institution awarding highest degree.  Evidence of teaching ability (recommendations and/or student evaluations).
