POSITION: Assistant Professor – Exercise Physiology/Exercise Science
EFFECTIVE DATE: August 24, 2009
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A doctoral degree with specialization in Exercise Physiology. Demonstrated ability of effective teaching in Exercise Physiology and related courses; a record of scholarly/creative activity appropriate to the rank offered; a working knowledge of computer hardware and software, as well as software and equipment specific to teaching and research in Exercise Physiology/Exercise Science; and the ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience in Exercise Physiology at both the undergraduate and graduate level at a four year College or University. Ability to teach courses such as sports nutrition and/or clinically-oriented courses in Exercise Physiology. Additional teaching experience at the undergraduate level in at least one of the following areas: motor learning, measurement & statistics, biomechanics, fitness, and or computer applications. Demonstrated record of published research and evidence of a current research agenda in Exercise Physiology. Record of collaboration in completing scholarly and creative activities. Knowledge of and experience with equipment, software, hardware, and instructional technologies related to Exercise Physiology.
DUTIES: Teach undergraduate and graduate Exercise Physiology courses as well as other Exercise Science courses as assigned; apply for internal and/or external funding to support research and instruction; collaborate with Kinesiology faculty in scholarly and creative activities; serve on Master's thesis and comprehensive examination committees; advise undergraduate and graduate exercise science students; serve on Department, College, and University committees. Other duties as assigned.
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience and level of appointment.
