Assistant/Associate Professor Position

POSITION:  Assistant/Associate Professor in Special Education

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Earned doctorate in special education or related field or ABD if will complete requirements by August, 2008.

• Ability and experience in instruction of students with disabilities in collaborative settings.  
• Ability and experience with teacher preparation. 
• Successful professional and life experiences in multilingual/multicultural settings; and ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

University teaching and supervision experience;

• Record of scholarly activity or demonstrated potential for such in special education and teacher preparation.
• Experience working with a variety of students with disabilities including students with secondary aged students
• Ability and experience with assistive and instructional technology for individuals with disabilities

DUTIES:

Teach courses, supervise field experience in credential and graduate programs in special education;

Assist with the recruitment, advisement and retention of culturally and linguistically diverse students;

Assist with program coordination; and develop program relations with area schools.

Participate in scholarly activities and service to department, college, university, and community

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with academic rank.
