POSITION: Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Educational Leadership (Open Rank)

 

EFFECTIVE DATE: August 25, 2008           

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctorate in educational leadership or a related field (e.g. public policy, curriculum and instruction) and successful leadership experience in P-12 or higher education in diverse urban settings such as those in Southern California. Ability to work collaboratively and collegially and to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with an ethnically, linguistically and culturally diverse campus community. Experience in university teaching and/or advising.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Evidence of scholarly productivity.  Prior experience in graduate programs such as curriculum development, supervision, advertisement and recruiting. Successful experience working in P-16 collaborative partnerships. Experience in integrating technology into learning activities.  Evidence of participation in professional associations or networks related to area of expertise.

 

DUTIES:  The position presents an exciting opportunity to join a strong interdisciplinary group of university faculty and public school/community college educators to implement a new doctoral program with specializations in P-12 leadership and community college/higher education leadership.

 

  • Teaching, supervising, and advising graduate students
  • Supervising theses and/or dissertations
  • Collaborating with members of the university/community to advance the program
  • Participating in program operations and faculty governance
  • Maintaining an active scholarly agenda

SALARY RANGE:  Commensurate with Academic Rank

Documentation of successful graduate level teaching and scholarly research publications.
