Assistant Professor of Health Science

Effective Date

August 18, 2014 (Fall semester)

Salary Range

Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Earned doctoral degree in health education, health promotion, or a closely related field
  • Ability to teach in at least three of the following areas: Child and Adolescent Health, School Health Education, Curriculum Development, Teacher Preparation in Health Science/Education
  • Must have record of scholarly presentations, publications and grant awards or the potential for scholarly publications and grant awards commensurate with years of post-doctoral experience
  • Experienced applicants must have documented prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level and in teacher preparation
  • Recent graduates must have ability and interest to teach at these levels. Commitment to and/or expertise in educating a diverse student population

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • MCHES/CHES certification. K-12 Teaching Credential helpful
  • Practical experience in school health education setting or as K-12
  • Teacher and/or experience in higher education teacher preparation

Duties

  • Teach a variety of health science/education undergraduate and graduate level courses.
  • Engage in scholarly activities.
  • Provide service to the department, college, university, and professional public health community.
