Assistant Professor of Health Care Administration

Effective Date

August 18, 2014 (Fall semester)

Salary Range

Commensurate with qualifications and experience


Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctoral Degree or PhD in health care administration, health care management, health services research, health care finance, health care economics, health information management or closely related field
  • For ABD candidates official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2014 is required
  • Demonstrated potential or effectiveness for teaching
  • Demonstrated potential for research, scholarly and creative activities
  • Commitment to and/or expertise in educating a diverse student population

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialization and/or evidence of successful teaching in at least one of the following areas: health care finance, health care economics, health information, informatics or health information technology
  • Record of scholarly publications and strong methodological and quantitative research skills
  • Health care industry work experience


  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses
  • Conducting research and publishing in health management, health services research, health care economics and/or finance, health information and/or management information journals
  • Advising students and participating in service to department, college, university, and community

  • A copy of transcript from institution awarding highest degree
