Ph.D. in the biological sciences and post-doctoral experience with training and research in marine biology incorporating mathematical modeling of physiological, biophysical or ecological processes
Record of published research and potential for developing and sustaining an externally funded research program that involves students
Demonstrated potential for effective teaching of a course in computer modeling in biology
Commitment to and/or expertise in educating a diverse student population
Prior successful teaching at the university level
Potential to teach core biology courses at the undergraduate and graduate level
Successful acquisition of external funds to support research in marine biology
Teach courses in computer modeling in biology, marine biology, and the undergraduate and graduate core biology curriculum
Develop an active, externally funded research program that involves undergraduate and graduate (M.S.) students resulting in scientific presentations and publications
Participate in activities serving the department, college, university, and community
