Assistant Professor of Kinesiology (Biomechanics)

Effective Date

August 19, 2013 (Fall Semester)

Salary Range

Commensurate with qualifications and experience

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree with specialization in Biomechanics

  • Demonstrated effective teaching and a record of scholarly/creative activity appropriate to the rank offered

  • A working knowledge of computer hardware and software and equipment specific to teaching and research in Biomechanics

  • Commitment to and/or expertise in educating a diverse population
     

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Biomechanics at a four year College or University
  • Demonstrated ability to teach courses such as strength and conditioning, ergonomics or clinically-oriented courses in Biomechanics
  • Additional teaching experience at the undergraduate level in at least one of the following areas:  motor learning, measurement & statistics, exercise physiology, and/or fitness
  • Demonstrated record of published research and evidence of a current research agenda in Biomechanics
  • Record of collaboration in completing scholarly and creative activities
     

Duties

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate Biomechanics courses as well as other Exercise Science courses as assigned
  • Apply for internal and/or external funding to support research and instruction
  • Collaborate with Kinesiology faculty in scholarly and creative activities
  • Serve on Master's thesis and comprehensive examination committees
  • Advise undergraduate and graduate exercise science students
  • Serve on Department, College, and University committees
  • Other duties as assigned
