Boeing Endowed Professor of Manufacturing Engineering

Effective Date

August 19, 2013 (Fall Semester 2013)

Salary Range

Commensurate with qualifications and experience 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Aerospace   Engineering, with specialization and experience in the area of Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Demonstrated excellence for teaching, research, grantsmanship, and service that would allow appointment to the rank of Professor with tenure
  • Ability to initiate, lead, and conduct multi-disciplinary research
  • Commitment to and/or expertise in educating a diverse student population

 

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Nationally recognized record of research leading to significant grant and contract funding and publications

  • Demonstrated ability in initiating, leading, and conducting inter/multi-disciplinary and collaborative research involving academic-industry-government partners

 

Duties

  • Conduct research in collaboration with industry partners through the Boeing Research Center (BRC), a strategic partnership between CSULB and The Boeing Company

  • Establish independent research programs involving students and faculty

  • Bring in grants and contracts to support the development of laboratories and research facilities

  • Develop curriculum and

  • Teach courses in manufacturing engineering

  • A copy of transcript from institution awarding highest degree

  • Finalists will be required to provide

    • A signed SC-1 form
    • Three to five current letters of recommendation
    • An official transcript
    • Evidence of successful teaching (examples: syllabi, student evaluations, course handouts)
    • A statement of teaching, research, and professional goals
    • Employment is contingent upon proof of the legal right to work in the United States. This proof must be provided prior to commencing employment at the University. An appointment is not final until proof is provided.
