Part-Time Lecturer  (History & Social Science)

Effective Date

Fall semester: August 20, 2012-December 20, 2012

Spring semester: January 22, 2013-May 24, 2013

Salary Range

Commensurate with training and experience 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • M.A. degree in History, Social Science, or appropriate related discipline
  • Candidates are expected to have an excellent record of teaching or demonstrate potential for teaching excellence at the university level appropriate to the assignment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community

 

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to those whose training and experience best qualify them for the particular course(s) to be staffed
  • Experience teaching in K-12 public schools
  • Evidence of scholarship

 

Duties

  • Teach one or more sections of courses in specialized area: History-Social Science Capstone: History-Social Science Content and Standards for Elementary Classrooms
  • Candidate may attend department and program meetings as appropriate  
  • Applicants should be available on short notice for assignment to classes in Fall 2012 or Spring 2013

Required Documentation

  • Letter of application indicating the specialized area for which you are applying
  • Curriculum vitae including a current e-mail address
  • Three letters of recommendation (one of which must be from outside CSULB)
  • A writing sample (maximum 12 pages, single spaced)
  • A copy of transcript from institution awarding highest degree
  • Finalists will be required to submit a signed SC-1 form and official transcript
