Part-Time Lecturer

Effective Date

August 20, 2012-December 20, 2012; January 22, 2013-May 24, 2013

Salary Range

Commensurate with training and experience

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in the appropriate discipline for the program area of interest or appropriate related discipline
  • An excellent record of teaching or demonstrated potential for teaching excellence at the university level appropriate to the assignment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community

 

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in the appropriate discipline
  • Preference will be given to those whose training and experience best qualify them for the particular courses to be staffed across the following program areas:
    • Counseling (e.g., Marriage and Family Therapy, School Counseling)
    • Educational Psychology (e.g., Statistics, Multi-variate analysis, Research Methods, Child Development)
    • School Psychology (e.g., Positive Behavior Supports, Research Based Interventions)
    • Social and Cultural Analysis of Education (e.g., Critical Pedagogies, Urban Educational Policy)
    • Special Education (e.g., Introduction to teaching Special Needs Students, Collaborative inclusive models, Assessment, Field Experience Supervision)
    • Technology and Media Leadership (e.g., Computer Technology in Education, Organization of Information

 

Duties

  • Teach one or more sections of courses in the program areas listed above
  • Applicants should be available on short notice for assignment to classes in Fall 2012 or Spring 2012

  • Letter of application indicating the specialized area(s) for which you are applying
  • Curriculum vitae including a current e-mail address
  • Three letters of recommendation (one of which must be from outside CSULB)
  • A writing sample (maximum 12 pages, single spaced)
  • A copy of transcript from institution awarding highest degree
  • Finalists will be required to submit a signed SC-1 form and official transcript
