Position

Graduate Assistants (Political Science)

Effective Date

September 1, 2012 to January 31, 2013 (Fall 2012 Semester)

February 1, 2013 to June 30, 2013 (Spring 2013 Semester)

Salary Range

Full-time appointment (20 hours per week) $5,490.  Paid in five monthly installments of $1,098 each

Half-time appointment (10 hours per week) $2,745.  Paid in five monthly installments of $549 each

Minimum Qualifications

  • Students must be enrolled in a Graduate Program at CSULB 

  • Must be able to work between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus  

    community

  • Graduate student may not be employed for more than six semesters

     

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to Political Science Graduate Students

  • Non-political science graduate students must have a bachelor's degree in political science or related discipline

  • GPA of 3.0 or better

Duties

  • Assist faculty in evaluating written work of students enrolled in Political Science 100 (Introduction to   American Government)

  • Maintain office hours to advise and assist students
