The Lecturer Project is a program sponsored by the Faculty Center for Professional Development (FCPD) to help both part-time and full-time Lecturers feel more connected to the campus community. The Lecturer Project sponsors numerous Lecturer events and workshops, including a fall orientation and Professional Enhancement Network (PEN) Project meetings. The PEN Project is a community of faculty that offers participants an opportunity to share concerns and insights about their teaching.

Lecturers are kept informed through the Lecturers’ Newsletter, Faculty Handbook for Lecturers, flyers, voice mail, and e-mail. The Lecturer Project Leader is available at the Center to meet with any Lecturer who needs an orientation to the campus, has questions about University policies or procedures, or has concerns about teaching issues.

If you have questions or concerns about Lecturer issues, contact Lecturer Project Leader, Elizabeth Hoffman.

All University policy statements are listed on the Academic Senate web site.

New Evaluation Forms

Lecturers appointed for one semester may request an evaluation. These evaluations become part of each Lecturer's permanent personnel file.

Lecturer Range Elevation

Lecturers who have no more Service Salary Step Increase (SSI) eligibility in their current salary range and have five or more years in their current range have the right to seek Range Elevation.

Range elevation refers to an increase in salary by movement on the salary schedule from one range to the next, e.g. "A" range to "B" range or "B" range to "C" range. By November 1st of each year, Academic Affairs will send to the departments a list of Lecturers eligible for range elevation and information on eligibility, procedures, and evaluation timetable. Lecturers who are eligible for elevation will be individually notified. Each eligible Lecturer is to be considered/ evaluated for range elevation unless he/she notifies the department chair in writing that he/she does not wish to be considered at this time. There is an appeal procedure for those denied a range elevation.
