CSU System-Wide International Programs (IP)

  •   Academic Year-long programs in 18 countries
  •   Junior/senior and some graduate level programs
      (Sophomore options available in China, France, Germany, and Mexico.)
  •   GPA of 2.75 (in a few countries a 3.00 GPA is required)
  •   Language and/or specific course prerequisites
  •   Financial Aid applies
  •   Credits placed directly on CSULB transcript

IP Program: Countries that do not require prior language study

  • AUSTRALIA - Multiple sites in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. 3.0 GPA required.

    Study Options: Agriculture and Horticulture, Australian and Indigenous Studies, Communication Studies, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Food and Nutrition, Hospitality and Tourism, Information Technology, Kinesiology and Exercise Science, Marine Biology, Performing Arts, Psychology, Studio Art.  Apply by May 1stClick here for online application.

  • CANADA - Multiple sites in Montreal and Quebec City.

    Students attending Concordia or McGill take at least one French language course each term in addition to courses in their major field. Beginning French students can follow a "Learn French" program at Université Laval (open to sophomores). Students with intermediate and advanced French language skills can enroll in the regular university.  Click here for online application.

  • ISRAEL- Sites in Jerusalem, TelAviv  and Haifa. 3.0 GPA required. (Currently suspended)

    Study Options: Jewish Studies, Middle East Studies, International Relations, Religious Studies.

  • KOREA - The International Division of Yonsei University

    Study Options: Learn Korean language. Study East Asian Studies, International Relations, International Business and other general education courses taught in English. Students proficient in Korean language may, with permission, take regular university courses at Yonsei University. Click here for online application.

  • NEW ZEALAND - Sites on the North-Island (Palmerston) and South-Island (Massey). 3.0 GPA required.

    Agriculture, Horticulture, Geography and Resource Planning, Social Anthropology, Maori Studies, Parks and Recreation Management. Apply by May 1st. Click here for online application.

  • SWEDEN - Site in Uppsala, about 50 miles north of Stockholm.

    Study Options: Biochemistry, Fresh Water Ecology, Communications, History, Politics, Cultural Anthropology. Click here for online application.


IP Program: Countries That Require Prior Language Study
(2.75 minimum GPA and Junior standing except where noted)

  • CHILE - Santiago. 3.0 GPA required.
    2 years Spanish and 2 courses in Latin American studies required.

    Study Options: Full Curriculum available, emphasis on history, literature, political science and Latin American studies.  Click here for online application.
  • CHINA - Beijing . 3.0 GPA required.
    Open to sophomores and above. One semester of college-level Mandarin Chinese required and one college-level course with a focus on Chinese civilization, history, society, politics, literature, geography, or philosophy. Click here for online application.
  • FRANCE - Paris and Aix-en-Provence.

    Institut d'Etudes Francaises pour Etudiants Etrangers (IEFEE) in Aix-en-Provence
    Open to sophomore and above. One semester of college-level French required. Primarily French language and culture courses. Click here for online application.

  • JAPAN - Waseda University and Center for International Education 3.0 GPA
    One semester of Japanese required and one course in Asian Studies required. Asian Studies, Japanese Language and Culture, History, Politics and Economics offered. Click here for online application.
  • MEXICO -Instituto Technologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), Queretaro Campus

    Language and Culture and Study in English Program open to sophomores and above with at least one semester of Spanish. Courses offered in English vary slightly from year to year, but usually includes Agronomy, Architecture, Basic Sciences, Business Administration & Marketing, Computer Systems, Electronics, Food Industry, Industrial Engineering, Liberal Arts and Mechanical Engineering.

    La Meta (Learn about Mexican Education Through Teaching Assistantship) and Advanced Program (College of Architecture and Engineering and College of Administration and Social Sciences) available to students to withupper division standing and at least two years of college-level Spanish.  Internships in Business and Social Sciences are Available.
