SUBJECT: Option in Computer Science and Mathematics

The following policy statement, recommended by the Academic Senate at its meeting of May 26, 1977, approved by the President on June 7, 1977, and approved by the Chancellor on November 11, 1977, is as follows:

OPTION IN COMPUTER SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS

Lower Division

English 100, 101, or 317 Mathematics 122, 123, 224, 270, 272
and any one of the following:
(a) Physics 100A,B
(b) Physics 151, 152
(c) Philosophy 170, 270
(d) 8 units of a foreign language

Upper- Division

Mathematics 323, 325, 326, 346, 364A or 380A, 460A, 444 Electrical Engineering 440, 442, 444

and at least 9 units to be selected from one of the following groups:

(a) Mathematics 324, 343, 421, 476A,B, 485; or
(b) Mathematics 343, 364B, 380B, 382A,B, 442, 460B, 470; or
(c) Mathematics 273, 321, 425

At the same time, the title of the Computer Engineering Option in Electrical Engineering will be changed to Computer Science and Engineering.
