Freshmen: Students applying to a bachelor degree program, who have not completed any courses at a college of university after high school, are considered “freshmen” students. CSULB accepts freshmen applicants in fall semester only.
Undergraduate Transfer: Students who have completed more than 60 transferable semester units (90 quarter units) of college course work at an accredited college or university in the U.S. or outside the U.S. CSULB accepts transfer applicants in fall and spring semesters. CSULB does not accept undergraduate transfer applicants who do not have more than 60 transferable semester units (90 quarter units).
Graduate/Graduate transfer: Students who have obtained a degree level comparable to a U.S. bachelor degree are considered “graduate” students, also referred as “post-baccalaureate.” CSULB accepts graduate applications in fall and spring semesters; however, some graduate programs may close applications at any time.
Second Bachelor: Students who already completed a degree level comparable to a U.S. bachelor degree, but applying to a bachelor degree in a different discipline are called second bachelor (2nd bachelor) applicant.
