Welcome to CSULB’s Seventh Annual Celebration of

International Education Week!

What is International Education Week?

Since the year 2000, International Education Week has served as an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of an effort to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States. Since its inception, over 85 countries around the globe have joined in celebrating International Education Week and showcasing the significant contribution that international education makes in preparing people for the global economy, and the vital role that international education and exchange programs play in promoting peace in the world.

Our primary focus at CSULB has been to increase knowledge and awareness of the world's cultures among students and the wider community (see the IEW 2005 program).  We sincerely hope that all members of the CSULB community will join us in a celebration that highlights the international diversity on our campus and demonstrates CSULB's strengths as a global community.
