Transfer Students
CSULB offers much to help transfer students succeed including a highly qualified faculty, an outstanding library, and comprehensive campus resources like the University Center for Undergraduate Advising. The Center can assist you in realizing your expectations and meeting your educational goals.
IMPORTANT!!! All new transfer students must attend the SOAR program, the University's official program for advising and registering new transferred students.
The University Center for Undergraduate Advising serves transfer students with:
- Understanding CSULB's General Education requirements;
- Academic program planning;
- Understanding your Degree Progress Report and other University documents;
- Explaining University policies;
- Providing information about academic probation policies, remediation strategies, and course repeat/delete procedures;
- Comprehensive referrals for campus resources and academic processes.
- Helpful Hints for Continuing Students

Students transferring from a California Community College (CCC) can transfer all bachelor's level courses from the CCC but only 70 units of tranferrable coursework will apply toward the baccalaureate degree. All additional coursework will receive subject credit only.
The CSU accepts GE coursework from the CCC by an agreement that courses taken at the CCC can substitue for GE breadth requirements at any CSU if they appear on the appropriate lists of GE courses.
You may locate course-to-course articulation agreements between CSULB and California Community Colleges at www.assist.org
