FAQ - Scheduling Classes
How
many units should an entering student take their first semester
on campus?
Since this is a transition semester, entering students should take
a manageable unit load. Freshmen should not take more than 16 units
if they are not working. Working freshmen
students should not take more than 13 units in the first semester. Transfer students should not take more
than 16 units during their first semester on campus.
If a
student has a one class on lower campus and the next one on upper
campus, will they have enough time to go from one class to the other?
It is not a good strategy to schedule classes in this way, under
any circumstances. A student needs time to review information just
received in a class. You may also want to transcribe notes or go
to the library.
As
an entering freshman, what if I decide to change my schedule after
I have registered for classes?
Freshmen will only be able to alter their schedule if they contact
the University Center for Undergraduate Advising or their special program for the necessary
academic advising.
