Spring Freshmen Advising for Undeclared Majors

 

"Do I need to make an advising session appointment?"  Yes! Advising is one of the most important steps to your future success at The Beach. The University feels so strongly about insuring that you receive advising as you prepare for your sophomore year that all freshmen are required to participate in an advising program prior to registering.

 

Students who have not declared a major or are not certain about an academic program should attend general advising sessions offered by the University Center for Undergraduate Advising. These sessions are geared to undeclared majors and will be held in the University Center for Undergraduate Advising (located in Horn Center, room 103).

 

NOTE: If you already have a specific major in mind, you must sign up for an advising session offered by the College/Department associated with the major in which you are interested. Click here to locate the advising office for your major of interest. When you reach that advising office, just follow the instructions to attend one of your major department's advising sessions.

If, however, you have declared a major and you want to change your major to "undeclared" - be sure to fill out and turn in a "Change of Major" form to Enrollment Services, as soon as possible. After your form is processed by Enrollment Services, you will be eligible to attend a Spring Freshman Advising for Undeclared Majors workshop in the University Center for Undergraduate Advising. Important information regarding the Undeclared Majors Workshops in the University Center for Undergraduate Advising:

  • These workshops are "self discovery" workshops and are geared to undeclared majors.

  • Print this Self Discovery Interest Finder. - Fill it out and bring this form with you to your workshop. -

  • Check-in begins 30 minutes before each workshop starts.
  • Be aware that the workshops last approximately 90 minutes.
  • You must attend the workshop before your registration hold is released.

  • Workshops are held in the University Center for Undergraduate Advising (HC-103).

  • If you cannot attend your scheduled workshop, please contact us at our workshop phone line at (562) 985-7847 to reschedule your appointment. This also allows for another student to take your place in this popular workshop.
