The German program develops the student's language skills, and knowledge of current affairs in German-speaking countries, as well as cultural literacy, which are indispensable for foreign study and employment, business, government service, and careers in teaching, among others. In cooperation with the College of Engineering, the German Program promotes a double major of German and Engineering. In addition, the Program offers a BA in German Studies with a concentration/certificate in the Administration of Travel and Tourism. German Studies maintains exchange programs with the University of Bielefeld, Essen, and Oldenburg as well as Freibury (Switzerland) and Salzburg (Austria). German students are also eligible to participate in the German-American Business Student Workshop with the Polytechic University Hamburg, Germany.
