This guideline defines service offering, policies, requirements and provisions governing the use of Student E-mail Services provided by California State University, Long Beach. Please note that other Microsoft features (non-e-mail services) are not supported by the University.

Active students are eligible for Student E-mail Services.
Active students are matriculated students who have been accepted for admission to the University and have registered in a curriculum and are pursuing courses toward a degree. American Language Institute, College of Continuing and Professional Education (CCPE) students taking courses for credit, and those on approved academic leave are also included.
Individual e-mail accounts are provisioned for students. For new students, unless the student has designated a preferred e-mail account, the account generated will be considered the individual’s preferred e-mail account and will be used for official communication. A student can designate their preferred e-mail account by following the instructions on MyCSULB
Faculty and staff who are also students will not receive a new e-mail account and should continue to use their @csulb.edu accounts.
An e-mail account will be suspended or deleted according to the following procedures:
Student e-mail names and addresses will be displayed in the e-mail directory unless the student has a restricted record.
E-mail forwarding to external (non-csulb.edu) addresses is permitted. Individuals forwarding e-mail are responsible for maintaining a current forwarding e-mail address.
To authenticate users, CSULB Campus IDs and Passwords will be shared with Microsoft. Names and e-mail addresses will also be shared and listed in the directory unless an individual has a restricted record. View Microsoft's privacy practices.
