Outlook 2007

In Outlook, select Tools -> Account Settings...

Click the New button to continue.

Select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP.

Click the checkbox that says Manually configure server settings or additional server types and click Next.

Select Internet E-mail from the list and click Next.

Next, fill in all the boxes correctly:

 Your Name:  First and Last Name

 Email Address:  username@csulb.edu

 Account Type:  IMAP (or POP)

 Incoming mail server:  imap.csulb.edu (or popmail.csulb.edu)

 Outgoing mail server:  smtp.csulb.edu

 User Name:  username

 Passwordpassword

When your done, click More Settings...

Click on the Outgoing Server tab.

Place a check mark in the box "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" and make sure "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is selected.

Click on the Advanced tab and for the Outgoing Server port number enter in 587 and click OK.

Finally, click on Finish and Outlook is set up to connect to the campus email system.
