In Mac mail, select Mail -> Preferences
On the Accounts windows click on the + in the lower left corner
Account Type: Select IMAP (If you would still like to use POP, please see POP3 or IMAP)
Description: CSULB
Full Name: your full name
Email Address: your email address
Incoming Mail Server: imap.csulb.edu (for imap)
User Name: your CSULB Internet Account username (the email address without the "@csulb.edu")
Password: your CSULB Internet Account password
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): enter smtp.csulb.edu
Use Authentication: check this option
Username and Password: verify these two fields; they are the same as for the incoming server.
Account summary: You should see a screen very similar to this; please verify the information listed.
Success screen: You should see a screen very similar to this, indicating that you have been successful thus far.
Account Preferences You will be returned to the Account Preferences window. Make sure the account you have just created, CSULB, is selected, then click the "Server Settings" button.
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.csulb.edu
Server port: 587
Authentication: Password
User Name: your CSULB Internet Account username
Password: your CSULB Internet Account password
When finished click ok and then close the Accounts window
