Quiz & Survey Tips and Tricks for Students

  • Make sure your Internet Service Provider (ISP) doesn't disconnect you from the Web due to inactivity after a short period of time.
  • Wireless Internet access is not always reliable, so try to avoid using wireless Internet access when taking a quiz.
  • Refer to your modem or Dial-up Settings documentation to learn how to disable call-waiting or other services that may cause interruption.
  • When you click on a Take Quiz link and answers "OK" to the "Are you sure you want to take this quiz now?" dialog, - if you not complete taking the quiz, you usually will not be able to access the quiz again, and thus will be locked out.  Only the instructor can permit you access to the quiz.
  • Do not click on the "OK" button more than once.
  • When taking a quiz, make sure to save each question.
  • Using the wheel on the mouse may move to the wrong answer in a selection box.
  • At the end of a quiz, make sure to Submit the quiz, not just Save it.
  • Don't accidentally close the Web browser in which the quiz resides.
  • Read the quiz directions at the beginning in order to verify whether or not the quiz can be taken more than once.
  • Do not click on the browsers Back, Forward, Home or Refresh buttons at any time.
