| Software Depot Installation Policy | CSU, Long Beach participates in the CSU-Microsoft Campus Agreement. It is a program coordinated by Academic Technology Services. The license requires division, department or college technologists to install Microsoft products, such as Microsoft Windows Vista Enterprise, on university-owned workstations. Contact your division, department or college technologist for assistance. |

Volume Activation 2.0 (VA2) is a new volume license activation requirement for Microsoft products, including the Windows Vista operating system and Windows Server Code Name "Longhorn." It requires activation of each Windows Vista / Longhorn license acquired under a Volume License agreement. VA2 is designed to help increase protection and to help better manage the Volume License keys on campus. VA2 provides two types of keys and three methods of activation which can be used for university owned computers.

If software you download from Software Depot is in the ISO format and your CD-burning software does not support ISO images, OAT recommends downloading ISO Recorder. The ISO format can easily be duplicated for installation on your department's computers.
Microsoft Windows Vista Enterprise is part of the CSULB Microsoft Campus Agreement Program. Activate the product using CSULB's volume license key ( serial number ) for this product during the installation process or during the migration.
The license key is displayed as part of the product details in Software Depot. Log in to Software Depot and then click on the "My Software" link in the upper left hand corner of the page. Click on the link labeled "Secure Download" for the product and activation code.
The University's Volume Licensing Media and keys may NOT be used for Microsoft Windows Vista Enterprise installations on personally owned computers used primarily for university business. For those installations, faculty and staff must purchase a media kit from the bookstore.
