Using CSULB Software Depot Secure Download for Macintosh

Downloading Software from CSULB Software Depot is a two part process.  The first step is to securely download your selected software application.  The second step is to install the software.  Step one is essentially the same regardless of the software you are downloading.  The following instructions are for downloading your selected software.  Please refer to the CSULB Licensed Software page for instructions on installing your selected piece of software.

  1. When you get to the end of the checkout process for your selected piece of software, you should see a button labeled "Download Software."

  2. The next step is to save the secure download client.  Note that the name of the client may change depending on the particular piece of software you are downloading.  In the example below, the secure download client is named "Secure_Downlaod.app".  Click on the "Download" button.

  3. When the download is complete, you should see a "Download" window such as this:

  4. You should also see an icon for the downloaded client on your desktop.  Double click on the icon for the client that is on your desktop to run it.
  5. When the "Authorization and Delivery Client" window appears, click on the Start Download button.

  6. Navigate to your desktop. The icon for the installation archive or file should be there. In our example, the file is a file called "macsav10.zip".

Double click on the icon for the installation archive to open it up.  At this point, you can continue the installation process using the specific instructions for the software you are installing.

Once you're sure that the software has been downloaded and installed correctly, you can delete the secure download client.  If the download of your software is interrupted for some reason, go back to step three and the Secure Download Client should resume the download where it left off when the interruption occurred.
