Lighting Design

Mr. Jacques has designed over 300 theatre, opera, television, dance and special event productions. Recent productions include Die Frau Ohne Schatten and Lulu with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Tosca with the Kirov at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia, Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk and Tosca with The Canadian Opera Company, Tannhäuser with Teatro alla Scala, Daphne with Teatro la Fenice (DVD), I Lombardi with Teatro Maggio Fiorentino, Cherubin with Teatro Lirico di Cagliari (DVD), The Re­hearsal/Shostakovich’s Symphony Nº.13 with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Otello with The Welsh National Opera in Great Britain, and West Side Story, The Rape of Lucretia, and Suzannah with Central City Opera. Mr. Jacques’ designs for television have been broadcast on NBC, A&E, and PBS. He also served as lighting consultant for Walt Disney Creative Entertainment and designed numerous projects for Epcot Center, MGM, and Euro-Disney. In addition, Mr. Jacques designs architectural lighting projects throughout the United States, Europe, and South America, and occasionally plays Hammond organ in local blues and jazz bands in Southern California.
