A separate Affirmative Action Plan, required of federal contractors, has been developed for covered veterans and persons with disabilities, prepared in accordance with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 503, as amended, and Title 41, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 60-741 (Affirmative Action Program for Handicapped Persons), the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistant Act of 1974, Section 4212, as amended, and Title 41 Code of Federal Regulations, Part 60-250 (Affirmative Action Program for Disabled Veterans, Other Protetcted Veterans and Recently Separated Veterans, pursuant to the categories defined by the Jobs for Veterans Act.

The required contents of the Affirmative Plan include a statement of policy, review of personnel processes, physical and mental qualification, reasonable accommodation to physical and mental limitations, harassment, external dissemination of policy, outreach and positive recruitment, internal dissemination of policy, an audit and reporting system, responsibility for implementation, training and compensation.
