New Student Scholarships
New Student Scholarships are available for incoming students (freshman and transfer) from partial to full-tuition. The New Student Audition serves as the scholarship audition for New Student Scholarship awards. Scholarships are offered to outstanding students following the students' individual audition. The awards are renewable for four years (eight semesters) during study as a music major in the CSULB Department of Music, in accordance with the following requirements:
- Remain a full-time matriculated student with a minimum of 12 units completed per semester.
- Maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.5
- Enroll and participate in assigned performing ensembles
- Maintain satisfactory progress toward completion of the degree
Scholarship checks come at the conclusion of each semester.
Endowed Foundation Scholarships
Endowed scholarships are available to all full-time students who are currently enrolled as music majors in the Department of Music. Auditions for endowed scholarships are held during the Spring Semester of each year. First year full-time students (freshman and transfers) become eligible during their first semester in attendance.
With over $30,000 of endowed scholarships available, many students benefit from the support of our generous benefactors. Endowed scholarship awards come in addition to any departmental scholarship awards and are one-year only awards. Foundation Scholarships are awarded by audition in the Spring.
