Single Subject Mathematics CSET

The first two subtests of the Single Subject Mathematics CSET include:

  • Subtest I: Algebra (Linear and Abstract) and Number Theory
  • Subtest II: Geometry and Probability & Statistics.

We recommend the following set of courses in preparation for the first two subtests of the CSET:

  1. MTED 110 or MATH 122 & 123.

The MTED courses below all have MTED 110 as the prerequisite course. The MATH courses require MATH 122 and 123. MATH 380 also requires MATH 224. You will need to check individual courses for other prerequisites.
  2. Content specific to particular subtests:

    Probability & Statistics : MTED 105 and MTED 402 or MATH 380

    Geometry : MTED 312 or MATH 355

Number Theory : MTED 320 or MATH 341

Abstract and Linear Algebra : MTED 324 or MATH 444

  3. Additional courses that are helpful are: MTED 315 and MTED 325
