ARML Southern California: Spring 2008
National honors for the A team! Our best results ever! Jeff and Aubrey in the top 10 indviduals!
2008: On MATH 30 and 31, 2008, the Southern California A , B, C, and Gamma teams competed in the American Regions Math League at Las Vegas, NV. The A team finished 5th overall, winning national honors in Division A. The B team finished tied for 25th in A division, ahead of all division B teams, and tied with New York City N for the best second team of any organization. The C team finished tied for 34th in division B (76th overall) and the Gamma team finished 37th in DIvision B (79th overall). This is out of 127 competing teams from over 50 organizations. Jeffrey Manning placed 4th nationally on the ARML individual round (including the tiebreaker) and Zhuo Ming Yang placed 6th. Others earning national ranking for scoring 7 out of 8 on the individual round were Patrick Chan, Jiunn Song, and Zhifan Zhang of the A team and David Yang of the B team.
For all of our teams combined, this was the strongest showing to date.
