International Studies students rely heavily on advising. We strongly encourage you to make make regular advising appointments by calling: 562-985-4705
International Studies provides majors with the content and skills that global citizens need. It also prepares CSULB graduates for good jobs. While some of this content and some of these skills are offered in other liberal arts majors and in area studies programs, IST does more. Its outcomes-oriented approach approach to higher education leads students to achieve strong analytical abilities while teaching students how to integrate a wide variety of disciplinary methods, language competencies, and cross-cultural understandings into the study of global issues. As a result, IST graduates have success in graduate school admissions and in entering the workforce with skill-sets that employers value.
For more information make an appointment with Prof. Richard R. Marcus, Director of the International Studies Program.
