23 August 2004 (Fall 2004) and 24 January 2005 (Spring 2005).
Master's degree in geography or closely related field is required. Applicants must present evidence of teaching effectiveness or potential for effective teaching. Lecturers must be able to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
Effective college or university teaching experience preferred, especially related to courses that require staffing. Preference will be given to applicants with a Ph.D. in geography, published scholarship and/or paper presentations at major conferences, expertise in relevant applied professional/technical fields, and prior experience or familiarity with California State University.
Teach primarily introductory courses, such as Geography 100 (World Regional Geography), Geography 140 (Introduction to Physical Geography), and Geography 160 (Introduction to Human Geography). Applicants may be considered for other courses as the need arises, depending on qualifications. Final determination of part-time teaching assignments is contingent upon student enrollment figures and funding.
Depends on training and experience. Salary is paid over six months in six equal amounts.
