Financial aid is available to continuing CSULB students to assist with summer sessions costs. The available aid programs, general eligibility requirements and application process (if any) are described below.
Current undergraduate grant recipients will be considered for summer awards. Eligible students will receive an email notifying them of their award in early March. Students should take special note of the specific enrollment and eligibility requirements for receipt of the award.
CSULB students who received a Pell grant during the 2006-07 academic year, may be eligible if they did not receive a full-time Pell payment (enrolled in at least 12 units) during the term(s) in which they were enrolled. No application is needed. The Financial Aid office identifies and awards eligible students who enroll in summer. Awards are made and disbursed in early August and the Pell payment is refunded to students based on their confirmed summer enrollment.
CSULB students who received financial aid during the 2006-07 academic year and have remaining Stafford loan eligibility, may be eligible for summer assistance. Applications are available in early April and the deadline to apply is May 1, 2008. Students are notified of their award status by June 1, 2008. Please note these specific enrollment requirements to receive a summer Stafford loan: undergraduates and teacher credential students must enroll in at least 6 units, and post-baccalaureate (Master's) students must enroll in at least 5 units. In general, loan funds are disbursed to students around the first week of the first session attended.
