Access to Grades, Transcripts and Degree Verification

Transcript service will be suspended during the Holiday Closures, November 27-30, 2014 and December 24, 2014 to January 2, 2015.

How do I check my grades?

Grades are available approximately 3 weeks after the end of each term. You may check your grades online at MyCSULB.

If you suspect an error with your grades, please contact your instructor to discuss the discrepancy and the submittal of a Request for Change of Grade form. A request for a grade change must be filed within one year from the date your grade was assigned.

Online (MyCSULB):

You may check your grades at MyCSULB. To do so you will need your campus identification number. For assistance with setting up your password and/or navigating MyCSULB, contact the Technology Help Desk (562) 985-4959.

How do I obtain my official CSULB transcripts?

Official transcripts:

You may order official transcripts on-line, in person or by mail. Enrollment Services cannot accept phone or email requests. Processing time is seven working days after receipt of your request. There are additional charges for expedited two-day service, mail-in and walk-in requests (see below).

Note: Your request will not be processed if you have any outstanding financial or administrative obligations to the university.

TO ORDER ON-LINE: On-line Request processing time is 7 working days after receipt of your request. If you require expedited processing time (2 working days after receipt of your request), add $10 to the cost of the number of transcripts you are requesting, see chart below. Please note that the processing time does not including U. S. Postal mailing time.

Current Students:

  • have your check or credit card ready for payment
  • have the recipient’s address available
  • log into MyCSULB and go to your Student Center
  • in the Academics section, select Official Transcript from the pull-down menu
  • turn off pop-up blocker

Former Students (attended Fall 1988 to the present only)

  • you must have a Social Security number to request transcripts on-line
  • have your check or credit card ready for payment
  • have the recipient’s address available
  • turn off pop-up blocker
  • go to the On-line Official Transcript Request service

Note: If you attended prior to Fall 1988, you must use the Transcript Request form.

For on-line expedited service (2 day) add $10 fee :

TO ORDER IN PERSON: Walk-in Request processing time is 2 working days after receipt of your request.

Visit the Enrollment Services windows in the Brotman Hall courtyard. When placing your order, you must present photo identification and complete a Transcript Request Form.

Complete the Transcript Request Form and include your payment by check or money order (payable to CSULB). If you are not able to print out the Transcript Request form, you may submit a letter that includes the following:

  • full name
  • maiden or other names used during attendance at CSULB
  • campus ID
  • social security number
  • date of birth
  • current address
  • address(es) where you would like transcript(s) mailed; for a university address, please indicate the specific office along with the street address.
  • daytime telephone number
  • dates of attendance at CSULB
  • the number of copies requested
  • any special instructions, such as "Hold for degree posting"
  • full signature and date

How do I obtain my unofficial CSULB transcripts?

If you are a current CSULB student, you may view and print your unofficial transcript from MyCSULB via the Student Center:

  • in the Academics section, select Unofficial Transcript from the pull-down menu
  • choose CSU Long Beach as the Academic Institution
  • choose Unofficial Transcript as the Report Type
  • read "Information for Students" and click Go

There is no fee for accessing your unofficial transcript.

How do I obtain verification of my enrollment and degree?

You may request official and unofficial verification of enrollment free of charge on MyCSULB. You may also obtain expedited, official enrollment verification for a $10 fee at the Enrollment Services windows in the Brotman Hall courtyard. Go to Enrollment Verification for online instructions.

For official verification of degrees awarded by the California State University, Long Beach, you may use the services of the National Student Clearinghouse, with which CSULB has contracted to serve as our authorized agent. There is a nominal charge for the services provided by the Clearinghouse. Continuing students and CSULB alumni will most often use the official transcript as the primary document for degree verification. However, the services of the National Student Clearinghouse are also available to students and alumni who prefer degree verification documents without the detail found on transcripts.
