How do I check my grades?

Grades are available approximately 3 weeks after the end of each term. You may check your grades online at MyCSULB.

If you suspect an error with your grades, please contact your instructor to discuss the discrepancy and the submittal of a Request for Change of Grade form. A request for a grade change must be filed within one year from the date your grade was assigned.

Online (MyCSULB):
You may check your grades at MyCSULB. To do so you will need your campus identification number. For assistance with setting up your password and/or navigating MyCSULB, contact the Technology Help Desk in the Horn Center lobby at (562) 985-4959.

How do I obtain my official and unofficial CSULB transcripts?

Official transcripts:

You may order official transcripts either in person or by mail. We cannot accept phone or email requests.

Official Transcript Fees:

Number of Copies Cost
1 copy $4.00
Additional copies up to 10 $2.00 each when ordered at the same time
Additional copies over 10 $1.00 each when ordered at the same time

Processing time is 7 working days after receipt of your request. We will expedite the processing of your request for an additional $10.00. Expedited processing time is 2 working days after receipt of your request.

Your request will not be processed if you have any outstanding financial or administrative obligations to the university.

To order online (Current CSULB students only):
You may order official transcripts to be sent to the address(es) of your choice from MyCSULB via the Student Center:

  • have your payment method handy (check or credit card)
  • in the Academics section, select Official Transcript from the pull-down menu
  • follow the instructions

To order in person:
Visit the Enrollment Services windows in the Brotman Hall courtyard. When placing your order in person, you must present your Student Photo I.D. and complete a Transcript Request Form.

To order by mail:
When ordering your CSULB transcript by mail, you must include your payment by check or money order made payable to CSULB. In addition, please complete the Transcript Request Form or write a letter that includes the following information:

  • full name and other names used during attendance at CSULB
  • social security number or campus ID number
  • date of birth
  • current address
  • address(es) where you would like transcript(s) mailed; for a university address, please indicate the specific office along with the street address.
  • daytime telephone number
  • dates of attendance at CSULB
  • the number of copies requested
  • any special instructions, such as "Hold for degree posting"
  • full signature and date

If you are requesting expedited processing, please note this in the mailing address. For inquiries about a transcript ordered more than 2 weeks ago, please call (562) 985-5487 between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Unofficial Transcripts:

If you are a current CSULB student, you may view and print your unofficial transcript from MyCSULB via the Student Center:

  • in the Academics section, select Unofficial Transcript from the pull-down menu
  • choose CSU Long Beach as the Academic Institution
  • choose Unofficial Transcript as the Report Type
  • read "Information for Students" and click Go

There is no fee for accessing your unofficial transcript.

How do I obtain verification of my enrollment and degree?

You may request official and unofficial verification of enrollment free of charge on MyCSULB. You may also obtain expedited, official enrollment verification for a $10 fee at the Enrollment Services windows in the Brotman Hall courtyard. Go to Enrollment Verification for online instructions.

For official verification of degrees awarded by the California State University, Long Beach , you may use the services of the National Student Clearinghouse, with which CSULB has contracted to serve as our authorized agent. There is a nominal charge for the services provided by the Clearinghouse. Continuing students and CSULB alumni will most often use the official transcript as the primary document for degree verification. However, the services of the National Student Clearinghouse are also available to students and alumni who prefer degree verification documents without the detail found on transcripts.
