Lecture and Seminar Classes - Daytime

The following standard class scheduling times must be used when scheduling daytime lecture and seminar classes. This applies to both university and college/department owned space. Exceptions, if any, require approval from Academic Affairs and must be submitted on a Request for Exception to Standard Class Start Time form.

Authorized exceptions will be granted for classes meeting:

8:00 am - 9:50 am
10:00 am - 11:50 am
12:00 pm - 1:50 pm
2:00 pm - 3:50 pm
4:00 pm - 5:50 pm

A Request for Exception must be filed for any other meeting pattern.

Start times for 1 Day a Week classes- all units/required contact hours

* Classes scheduled Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 12 noon to 12:50 pm, or Monday and Wednesday, 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm, must have multiple sections, some of which are scheduled in daytime hours. Any requests for exception must be filed on a Request for Exception to Noon Hour Class Scheduling form. Note: Exceptions are rarely approved.

** Large lecture classes (scheduled in rooms seating 88 or more) cannot use the MW schedule during the morning hours. Care should be taken when using the MW and MWF schedule in the same room to avoid ‘breaks in room usage.

*** Classes with 3 required contact hours only can be scheduled at these times.

Laboratory and Activity Classes

These classes normally require longer blocks of time and usually meet in college/department owned rooms; nevertheless, they should conform to the starting times specified above whenever possible so that time conflicts do not preclude students from taking other classes.

Lecture and Seminar Classes - Evening

The following standard class scheduling times should be used when scheduling lecture and seminar classes on Monday through Thursday evenings. This applies to both university and college/department owned space.
