Using Finances and Financial Aid - My Account

Account Inquiry

  1. Select the "Account Inquiry" link below "My Menu" or below the "Finances" section of the Student Center.

  2. Click on one of the five tabs (summary, activity, charges due, payments, and pending financial aid) you wish to view. The "summary" tab displays summarized charges, payments, pending financial aid and due charges by term.

  3. The "activity" tab lists all payments, charges, financial aid and refunds posted by date range and or term(s).

  4. The "charges due" tab displays a summary of unpaid charges by due date.

  5. The "payments" tab lists all payments including financial aid posted on your account by date range.

Pay Your Fees

Select the "Make a Payment" link below "My Menu" or below the "Finances" section of the Student Center.

The E-Check option allows you to pay your balance by withdrawing funds from your checking account. Your bank routing and account numbers will be needed to complete the transaction. The E-Check option does not charge a convenience fee.

The second option is "Pay By Credit Card." Smart Pay accepts MasterCard, American Express and Discover. The Smart Pay option charges a 2.9% convenience fee.

Installment Plans, Short-Term Loans, and Book Loans

Partial payments are accepted only with an approved installment agreement. A non-refundable administrative fee is charged to sign up for Installment Plans, Short-Term Loans and Book Loans. Inquire at Student Account Services, BH 148, windows 8-10.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You do not have a past due balance for a prior term.
  • You are admitted for the current term.
  • You are not awarded Financial Aid for the term. (Book Loan excluded.)
  • You have not already paid your Registration Fees / Non-Resident Fees for the term. (Book Loan excluded.)
  • You must provide proof of employment for the Short-Term Loan and the Book Loan. (Estimated Financial Aid can be used in place of proof of employment for the Book Loan only.)
  • Campus I.D. card is required to set up installment plans.
  • You must have an overall GPA of 2.0 to participate in the Short-Term Loan and the Book Loan.

Spring 2009 Installment Plans:

Installment payments are accepted only with an APPROVED installment agreement. A non-refundable $33.00 administrative fee is charged to sign up for Installment Plans.

Applicable to State University Fees and Non-Resident Tuition.

Last day to apply, or pay first payment

  • 4 part installment: December 19, 2008
  • 3 part installment: February 13, 2008

To participate in an Installment Plan, please print the contract and bring it in person to the Cashier’s windows located in Brotman Hall Room 148. Do not pay on your account prior to set up of the Installment Plan. Payments accepted are Cash, Check or Debit Cards.

Spring 2009 Short-Term Loans:

The University offers two short-term loan programs. One is for assistance with paying registration fees and the other is for help to purchase books. Book loans are $400 for full-time students and $200 for part-time students. Registration loans are offered for the amount of your registration fees not including course fees. The last day to apply for either loan is February 13, 2009.

Registration loans for the semester are available beginning November 7, 2008. Book loan applications are available beginning January 5, 2009. Both will be disbursed as long as funds are available. Applications normally take 2 to 4 business days and book loan checks are mailed within 5 business days.

Registration fees plus a $15 processing fee for the Registration loan are due March19, 2009. Book loans ($400/$200) plus a $15 processing fee are due March 19, 2009.

Request Parking Permit

You can purchase a parking permit through MyCSULB.

The deadline for requesting and paying for your Fall 2008 parking permit online to have it mailed to you is July 31, 2008. After this deadline, you must buy a permit in person at the Parking & Transportation Services Office or Cashiers' Office, or send in your payment with your CSULB invoice.

Request Parking Online

Request parking and pay by E-check or credit card under the Finance section of the Student Center.

Choose the "Request Parking" link. On this page you can choose the term for which you would like to purchase parking. Then hit the "Go" button.

Select an automobile or motorcycle permit and click on the "Submit" button.

A pop up warning will display: "Request Submitted. Pay your parking fees by the due date to receive your parking permit in the mail." Please pay your parking fees by the due date in order to ensure that your parking permit will be mailed.

Your parking transaction is complete. You may now review your parking charge on the "activity" tab of "Account Inquiry."

Request Parking By Mail

Select the parking option on the CSULB invoice for fees, tuition, and other charges. Add the amount to the balance due and send check, money order or cashier's check payable to CSULB to:

Write your Campus ID Number on your payment. Do not mail cash or write your MyCSULB password on your check. Your cancelled check is your receipt.

Request Parking In-Person

After July 31, 2008, you may purchase your parking permit in person. Cash, check, money order, cashier's check, and ATM/debit card payments are accepted at the Parking & Transportation Services Office and the Cashiers' Office.

1098T Forms

From the Finances section of the Student Center click on "other financial…" drop-down menu.

Options to Request Your 1098-T Form

  • Choose to receive your 1098T Form either electronically online or on paper forms via the US Mail by selecting the "1098T Print Option" link in the "other financial…" drop-down menu.

Review 1098-T Detail

  • After clicking the "1098-T Detail Inquiry" link from the "other financial…" drop-down menu, enter the calendar year you wish to view. For example, 2006.
  • The 1098T Data screen can be printed for your records.

You can choose to view the detail for each reporting box by clicking on the "Box 1-5 Details" link

The detail link lists all charges and or adjustments for each reporting box number.
