Due to enrollment demand, CSULB is closed to applications from new undergraduate students for Spring 2009.
You are an Adult Re-entry applicant if you are at least 25 years of age and you have not been a full-time student in the last five years.
CSULB accepts applications from Lower Division transfers for Engineering and Nursing only. Adult re-entry students may only enter at the Upper Division (junior) level. If you do not meet the CSU Upper Division Admission requirements, you may be considered for admission as an Adult re-entry student if you meet the following requirements:
You are a high school graduate or equivalent. The California High School Proficiency Exam or G.E.D. may be considered equivalent.
You will be at least 25 years of age on the first day of instruction for the semester for which you are applying.
You have not been enrolled as a full-time student (12 semester units or more) for more than one semester in the five years prior to your application.
You have maintained a GPA of 2.00 or higher in any college work that you have attempted during the five years prior to your application.
You are in good academic standing at the last institution you attended in a regular session.
You have completed a college course in Freshman English Composition with a grade of C or better.
You have completed a college course in Mathematics, for which Intermediate Algebra is a prerequisite, with a grade of C or better.
You have demonstrated the ability to succeed in the course of study.
You should apply online at CSUMentor. If you don't have access to the Internet, you can request an admissions application from a CSU campus.
We strongly encourage you to apply during the Initial Filing Period for priority consideration. Deadlines are based on the class level to which you are applying. See the appropriate area (Transfer) for information.
We will send you written confirmation that will acknowledge receipt of your application. During peak periods of application processing, it may take four to six weeks for confirmation notices to be mailed. This is your notice that space has been reserved for you should you meet admission requirements.
You may also call our automated phone system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at (562) 985-2500 to find out the current status of your application. Have your 9-digit campus identification number handy when accessing this system.
You must submit transcripts from any and all colleges and universities you attended. In addition, you may be required to submit your high school transcript to verify your graduation.
Your high school grade point average will not be evaluated for purposes of Adult Re-entry admission. Test scores such as the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT) are not required if you are admitted as an Adult Re-entry student.
You must complete requirements for the Fall semester by the last day of the previous Spring semester. Courses taken in the Summer semester prior to a transfer will NOT be used in the Fall admission decision.
You may receive an offer of admission for the Fall semester while the prior Spring semester is still in progress. However, after your final transcripts are received, your admission status will be reviewed a second time. If you have not maintained eligibility through the Spring semester, your offer may be withdrawn.
