Sarah Wilbur: Sarah’s enthusiasm and artistic versatility have earned her a reputable career as a performer, educator, and choreographer (AGMA) for concert dance, opera, theatre, and film productions since earning her BFA in dance in 1996.  She has created over 40 dances for the concert stage, most recently as one of four artist recipients of the 2008 Bessie Schonberg Choreography Residency at The Yard in Massachusetts. Her latest work, The Greatest Dance on Earth (excerpts), was Wilbur’s fifth multi-generational concert work performed by an integrated cast of professional dancers and community members. A Midwest native, Sarah owes a great deal of her professional experience to her eleven-year affiliation with Milwaukee-based non-profit Danceworks, Inc (danceworksmke.org), where she oversaw year-round performance operations for the organization’s in –house theater while serving as co-founder/artistic director of the organization’s resident modern company, The Danceworks Performance Company. She also taught modern and jazz technique as an adjunct faculty member for ten years in the Dance Department at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and for three years in the College of Communication at Marquette University. Sarah lives in the SF Valley with the funniest man on earth (Eric Price), and is currently working to create a west coast translation of The Wide Sky Dance Project, a communal dance initiative seeking to unite a cross-section of the population in the creation and performance of original dance works.
