Sara Pfeifle is a dance artist and educator currently in the final year of pursuing her M.F.A. in Dance at CSU, Long Beach, where her work has focused on the influence of memory on identity construction and how this can be translated into performance.  Prior to moving to Southern California in the fall of 2008, Pfeifle lived in San Francisco where she performed with many emerging choreographers including Aura Fischbeck, Gretchen Garnett, Kelly Kemp, and Leyya Tawil.  In addition to performing, her choreography has been featured throughout the Bay Area including The Garage and The Subterranean Arthouse.  Pfeifle has taught in numerous private studios and public school settings throughout the Northwestern United States.  While in San Francisco, she worked most extensively with Performing Arts Workshop, and non-profit organization that uses the arts to teach critical thinking skills in public schools throughout the city.
Pfeifle received her BFA in dance from the University of Montana, Missoula, in 2004.  During her time in Missoula, Pfeifle performed with Mo-Trans (The Montana Transport Company).  While touring with this company, she participated in educational outreach as an artist in residence throughout Montana and Alaska.  Pfeifle also worked as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Montana, teaching Intermediate Modern as well as an Internship in Children’s Dance.
