A native of San Francisco, Gregory R.R. Crosby is currently the Technology and Media Advisor and Web Master for the Department of Dance at California State University, Long Beach, supervising all video productions integrating Dance and Video. He teaches video production for dance film and helps direct the Department’s outdoor dance film festival, 4 The Camera. Crosby obtained a BA in Film and Video Production from California State University, Long Beach and went on to edit for television. He has written and directed numerous short films and commercials, and was Director of Photography on the feature documentary Women of the Gridiron. He has worked on countless productions with his production company, Lost Heart Productions and, with Keith Johnson, Fistbomb Films. While working with talented choreographers, Crosby produced the dance films, Life in Security (ADF, Dance Conversations at the Flea, Breaking Ground, WestFest, Fusion), Wander/lost (Dance on Camera), Evacuated (Dance on Camera, Dance Camera West, WestFest), Promiscuity (Dance Camera West), Aprés, Parallax, Lucky 13 (Hoofing to the White House),the Steve Zee for President series (Topanga Film Festival) and also created the Department of Dance recruitment video.
