Latino Student Leadership on Retention Retreat 2005

November 11-13, 2005 Pali Mountain Conference Center, Arrowhead, CA

Close to 35 Latino Student Leaders from 11 CSULB organizations and 10 Faculty and Staff gathered to develop an action plan for Latino Student Retention. As convenors, CHLS Faculty had a leading role in this event in support of our community. Drs. Jose Moreno, Edith Vazques, Gabriel Estrada and Victor M. Rodriguez, participated in the weekend process which produced a timeline and a list of concrete objectives which will be transformed into a proposal to be presented to a gathering  of the Latino community next December 5 2005 from 4-6 p.m. Place: TBA

We also had the visit of Drs. Britt Ellis-Rios, Elena Macias and Linda Tiggs-Taylor , Academic Affairs staff working to incorporate CSULB as a Hispanic Serving Institution.
