Full-Time Lecturer opening in Physiology

POSITION: Full-time, three-year lecturer (rank open)

EFFECTIVE DATE: August 25, 2008

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in the biological sciences, or equivalent degree with a minimum of one year’s teaching experience in a 2-year community college, four-year university, or medical school. Demonstrated ability to teach pharmacology and pathophysiology. An ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. 

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Successful teaching experience in large lecture classes, both major as well as non-major biology students. Experience with the use of innovative teaching and assessment techniques. 

DUTIES: Teach multiple lecture sections of a one-semester, pharmacology course and a one-semester pathophysiology course to nursing majors. Other physiology and anatomy lecture and laboratory courses may be assigned. Participate in activities (e.g., committees, advising) serving the department. 

PROBABLE SALARY RANGE: $48,720 - $70,680 commensurate with preparation and experience.
