Spotfin Butterflyfish

Habitat:   upper parts of coral reef
Typical food:  tiny shrimp, crabs, worms, living coral animals, algae (from scraping reef with their bristly teeth)
Other information:  often in pairs; eye bands help camouflage the location of their true eyes to confuse predators
as to the direction the little fish will dart when attacked; at dusk they find shelter in a reef recess and settle for the night;
their daytime markings change and colors pale at night
