Other information:  their "beaks" are used to scrape algae and polyps from coral and rocks, but in this
process a lot of limestone is also eaten and ground in their gullets so that they excrete much sand; shy;
hermaphroditic and the female becomes a terminal male; sleep at night in a mucus cocoon
