This resource has been designed by Information Technology Services (ITS) to improve communication with all campus technical staff. The Security Incident Reporting System, otherwise known as SIRS, offers a method of tracking security incidents that occur on the campus network. Using the information obtained from the incident, ITS can identify patterns in security issues, including identifying the frequency of targeted areas, allowing for a more proactive approach to future security issues. ITS will notify the affected department by contacting the technical personnel on file via email and/or by phone. If the location of the PC is unknown, an email will not be sent, however the information will be visible to campus technical staff, so that the appropriate technical personnel can resolve the issue. ITS will strive to provide as much information as possible to resolve the incident. The initial email received by the technical contact may also provide a recommendation of how to resolve the issue. If additional relevant information is later added to an incident, the technical contact will receive a subsequent email as notification that an update has been made to the entry. Technical Staff may contact Desktop Support at 58344 to update information or be granted access to the system. Click to access SIRS . |
