"Emerging Learning Technologies, Pedagogies and Marketplace Issues"

Given the fundamental changes emerging in the ways we teach and learn, education at all levels is being reshaped dramatically. The changes we are encountering are indeed far-reaching: privatization of schools, delivery of online courses, distance education, and collaborative learning to name a few. This mini-track seeks to target research related to the technologies, pedagogies and marketplace issues in education.

We welcome research papers on a variety of topics including (but not limited to) the following:

• The impact of new media such as the Web on education
• The increasing privatization of education
• The emerging "Educational Object Economy" versus traditional author/publisher/bookstore supply chains
• Technology to support "studio" classroom methodologies versus traditional lecturing
• The role of faculty as the "producer" for media-rich learning modules
• The role of faculty as selector/assembler of educational objects/modules
• Lifelong learning relationships for universities and students
• Agents for identifying/assembling learning objects
• The infrastructure for collaborative learning
• Managing the online learning process
